Doug Parker believes people deserve accurate information to evaluate corporate environmental performance and make informed strategic decisions. He founded Ecolumix to address this gap in the ESG data market.
Doug’s unique perspective is built on 30 years of environmental insights, spanning both the public and private sectors. His decades serving in and leading the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s criminal enforcement program provide him unparalleled insights, which he applies to his clients’ needs. In practice, this means helping organizations navigate compliance challenges, manage crises, and work to understand how both the present and future environmental landscape can impact them. He also advises Fortune 500 companies and leading law firms on environmental risk and compliance.
Doug received his B.A. from Colby College and M.A. in Public Policy from Georgetown University. When he isn’t busy running the company, Doug can be found with family and friends (including his two dogs, Hazel and Calvin), watching lacrosse, enjoying the outdoors, or sampling the latest Hazy IPA.
Paul Stey helped to co-found Ecolumix. Prior to that, he was a mathematical statistician at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He currently serves as the assistant CIO for research software engineering and data science at Brown University. He also teaches courses on programming, data science, and machine learning at Brown.
Paul is originally from Ohio and did his undergraduate work in psychology and sociology at The Ohio State University. He earned his master’s degree and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Notre Dame.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys competitive programming competitions, reading about programming languages, and developing software for microcontrollers.
Jo Burnside enjoyed an exciting and challenging career in finance developing and executing financial transactions for some of the leading investment banks in Sydney, Johannesburg, and New York. This experience has given Jo a broad perspective and the ability to swiftly adapt to new settings and business requirements. Jo also has extensive experience with nonprofit governance and leadership, holding several different board of trustee positions, including board chair. Utilizing her broad experience and skill set to drive strategic vision and operations and cultivate key relationships and partnerships across organizations is always a focus for Jo. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue this work with the team at Ecolumix.
Jo is originally from Australia where she received her Bachelor of Business Systems from Monash University. Jo loves traveling with her two daughters, practicing yoga, beach vacations, and walking her dog in Central Park.
Dave Charlton is an entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience as a management leader in product development and professional services organizations. He has served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer in start-ups and public companies in retail, e-commerce, and logistics; bioinformatics and life sciences; business process automation; safety and compliance; and professional services.
Organizations and teams under Dave’s leadership have garnered dozens of “best of” industry awards for products, design, and service, including unprecedented back-to-back wins of Microsoft U.S. Partner of the Year.
Dave studied mechanical engineering at Yale University. He lives in Bethesda, MD, where he enjoys running, rowing on the Potomac, tinkering with aging machines, and being an avid spectator of his daughters’ sports.
Dan Welby is an expert in the environmental data and risk assessment industry, where he spent the last 26 years in multiple executive and leadership roles at EDR and LightBox. Dan started his career with EDR in 1997 as an Account Executive, selling environmental risk information to professionals, corporations, and banks. Dan’s multifaceted skillset includes organizing teams, executing companies’ vision and strategies, and forming strategic relationships with customers and internal departments. As the Managing Director for Corporate, Legal, and Government for LightBox, Dan created a long-range vision for these markets, developing and executing sales and product strategies. He has worked strategically with some of the largest U.S. corporate environmental teams to enhance, streamline, and create custom products for internal environmental due diligence processes in M&A, site selection, supply chains, and environmental audits.
Dan graduated from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, with a degree in Social Science, where he played varsity football. He enjoys spending time with his family and three daughters. Any free time he has is invested in his favorite passion, fishing.
Natalie Pryde is passionate about EHS and sustainability. She understands that progress comes from actions driven by accurate data, providing insights that lead to better strategies and execution. She joined Ecolumix to provide clients access to EHS and ESG data they can trust.
Throughout Natalie’s career in the corporate and consulting space she has applied adaptive and integrated sustainable compliance solutions. Her diverse background allows her to provide informed strategy insights, delivering business development, growth, and strong outcomes for people and the environment. Having managed technology and compliance teams, she leads the smart application of data tools for forward-thinking analysis, targeted technology, and user efficiency to meet the challenges of today. Her experience across global and local jurisdictions, multiple compliance areas, and tactical and strategic work for industries brings a unique perspective and value to organizations.
Natalie holds a B.S. from Kettering University and a doctorate degree in Naturopathy from Clayton College of Natural Health. In her free time, she enjoys hiking in the North Carolina mountains and spending time on and around Lake Norman with her friends, family, and their dogs.
Dan Gottlieb is an accomplished executive with a demonstrated history of developing and executing corporate and product strategies for early and growth-stage SaaS and data companies. He has brought a collaborative style, leading teams in launching and growing numerous best-in-class data/analytics and workflow products marked by a hands-on approach to gaining subject matter expertise and detailed data knowledge.
Through multiple leadership roles at Trepp, EDR, and, more recently, Lightbox, Dan’s career has spanned from structured finance to CMBS to commercial real estate debt, valuation, and environmental and physical due diligence. He is now increasingly focused on ESG and climate risk.
He holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Stern Business School at NYU.
Dan resides in Connecticut with his wife and two high school-aged children, living vicariously through their activities and going for the occasional run along the Long Island Sound.
Mary Ann Grena Manley is the Founder and President of 15E Communications LLC, a Washington, DC-based strategic communications firm that assists clients with policy analysis, content creation, and brand leadership. Before founding 15E in 2020, Mary Ann managed Bloomberg Industry Group’s coverage and analysis of global environment, health, safety, and sustainability issues for over 20 years. With experiences cutting across environmental law, policy analysis, journalism, and marketing, she most recently served as Deputy Editorial Director for Bloomberg Environment. Her policy expertise includes environmental compliance, environmental due diligence, risk management, brownfields redevelopment, sustainability, and ESG.
Mary Ann received her B.A. in Political Science from American University and J.D. from Widener University School of Law. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
When she’s not busy helping her clients, Mary Ann’s interests include photography, hiking, yoga, D.C.-area sports, and local community issues involving underserved populations. Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, she is a long-time resident of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
Eric Hoffer is a connector who aligns people, technology, and business needs using information services to increase efficiency, strengthen performance, and propagate satisfaction. Following 20 years in the financial and business information industry, he co-founded Second Integral in 2006 to research and apply methodologies from data management, user experience, value network analysis, and semantic technologies to find and bridge gaps between needs, processes, and capabilities.
He works with early-stage companies to help them develop and position their differentiated value, so their clients can best capitalize on their advantages.
Eric has a B.A. in Economics from Bates College. He has a passion for dissecting nuance and loves to triangulate microscopic detail with the many possible outcomes from multiple perspectives in both work and play.
Alec Crawford is an expert in sustainability, ESG, artificial intelligence, technology, investing, and risk management. He is the Founding Partner of Owl Peak Management, LLC, a family office focused on sustainable, long-term investment strategies. He also authors STAY Sustainable, a weekly blog that dives deep into sustainability, technology, artificial intelligence, and other related topics, and hosts a podcast.
Previously, Alec was a Partner and Chief Investment Risk Officer at Lord, Abbett & Co. LLC. He was responsible for identifying and managing risk in the firm’s portfolios and served as a member of the investment leadership team, the strategic allocation committee, and the ESG committee. He joined Lord Abbett in 2012, was named partner in 2013, and retired in 2022.
Alec has worked in the financial services industry since 1988, including in risk management at Ziff Brothers Investments, as well as roles at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, among others. He received a B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard College.
Alec enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, often playing golf or hiking in the mountains.
Daniel Perry is a sustainability, supply chain, human rights, and procurement technology ecosystem collaborator with expertise in strategic partnerships, sustainability impact, and innovative solution development. He has proven success, helping EcoVadis build an industry-leading ecosystem of partners and grow to become the world’s first Sustainability Tech “Centaur.”
After over 20 years of business experience, Daniel founded IMPKT LLC, providing advisory services to help early-stage companies develop strategic partner-led initiatives, and implement business models that drive positive impact and sustainable growth.
Before entering the world of B2B technology and relocating to the United States, he spent 10 years in the business travel industry in New Zealand, where he discovered his love for international travel – a passion he shares with his wife, daughter, and extended family.
Adam Bloom is passionate about extracting and generating accurate and powerful EHS insights from Ecolumix data. Adam graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Chemistry and then gained experience working in the environmental space in the utilities and nonprofit sectors. Adam’s interests are at the intersection of environmental policy and data/software engineering. Outside the office, Adam enjoys hiking and camping with his family, friends, and dog Ness.
Elliot Snow works as an associate, performing various functions including sales collateral development, product design and production, and data analysis. Before joining Ecolumix, he worked as an analyst at a boutique investment bank. Elliot received his B.A. in Economics and History from Colby College. When he can step away from work, Elliot enjoys spending as much time as possible on the golf course and skiing when the courses get covered by snow.
Flora Jiang is a data engineer and storyteller at Ecolumix; she cares deeply about data integrity. Behind the waves of digits and text, there are intelligent ways to tell a good story and reveal insights. Flora’s goal is to transform data into visual art that allows readers to fully understand and interpret complex data sets via a multisensory approach. Flora joined the team to devote her passion and skills to this cutting-edge work.
Flora received her B.S. in Mathematics of Computation from UCLA. As an avid museumgoer, she enjoys exploring exhibitions. Flora also loves snowboarding, playing piano and the drums, working on puzzles, and building Legos.
Camden Parker studied cognitive science with a concentration in computational methods at Dartmouth College. During this time, he developed an interest in using cutting-edge techniques to better understand complex problems in the brain and the mind. At Ecolumix, he focuses his attention on the vast EHS datasets. The opportunity to hone his technical skills and learn from industry experts while working as a member of a tight-knit team attracted this former collegiate rugby player to Ecolumix. When he is not working with Ecolumix data, Camden spends his free time in various ways, including skiing, surfing, and practicing meditation and yoga.
